I’m proud to
announce that as one of the major sponsors of the Kern River Rock N Blues Fest
that took place this late September in Kernville, CA, Travel To Go helped raise
$5000 for The Wounded Warrior
Project. This non-profit organization’s mission is to honor and empower
wounded warriors of the U.S. forces. It assists those men and women who have
been severely injured physically and/or mentally during the conflicts in Iraq,
Afghanistan, and other locations around the world. Did you know that 600,000 or
more service and former service forces live with mental health issues, often
untreated? The Wounded Warrior Project addresses the many needs of injured
service members through unique programs and services, and gives our veterans
opportunities they may not have access to otherwise. One unique way the Wounded
Warrior Project functions is by enabling injured service members to help and
support each other so they can feel empowered.
The 3-day
festival featured 13 different bands, including Monkey Bizness, English
Revolver, and Bunky Spurling, on the Bud Light Main Stage and six other music
depots. Travel To Go hosted the V.I.P. Party at the event, which featured a
special performance by RIP CAT Recording blues artist Lisa Cee. You can view
many photos of the event on my Facebook page. This event was a
fundraiser to specifically help with the construction of the Bakersfield
National Cemetery Memorial Walkway and honor our soldiers who didn’t make it
home alive. This will be a beautiful place to allow families and friends of
fallen veterans to gather and find solace. Tommy Middaugh
Charities is great way for you to continue to follow Travel To Go’s
involvement and the many charity events we like to sponsor throughout the year.
