Different stages of life ~ Jeanette Bunn

Taking a vacation, whether traveling close to home or halfway around the world, is always a welcome break. A vacation gives us the opportunity to discover new places, try new foods, enjoy new experiences and create long-lasting memories, whether we spend that time by ourselves, with our family or with friends. Traveling also allows us to get away from the daily routine and stress, and come back more relaxed and re-energized. We will actually benefit from a taking a vacation in different ways, depending on our age, as our needs and desires vary.

Young adults may enjoy traveling on their own or with a group of friends while discovering all the wonderful things the world has to offer. This is a great opportunity for them to travel without their parents for the first time. They get to enjoy the feeling of freedom that comes with becoming an adult, while leaving the responsibilities of college life or work behind while vacationing.

Parents who travel with babies and young children may find vacation condominiums or timeshares quite attractive, as they usually include all the amenities available at home. An extra bedroom may give the opportunity to invite the grandparents on the trip and enjoy a multi-generational vacation under one roof. An all-inclusive resort stay is another option, as it may provide daycare and exciting activities for the little ones while parents get enjoy some well-needed one-on-one time. A cruise is also a great way to invite grandparents and other family members to join in on the fun and take part in the many activities available on the ship.

Parents of grade-schoolers may opt for a vacation located by a large entertainment or theme park, or be more adventurous and explore an exotic location out of the country. This is a great opportunity to create strong family bonds that will last a lifetime while doing fun activities together. A day at the pool or the beach is a great way for the kids to enjoy the outdoors while adults have a chance to relax.

Parents of tweens and teens have a lot of options when it comes to spending time away from home as a family. A vacation is a great opportunity to teach older children about their own country’s history by traveling to other U.S. states, or to discover another country and culture altogether. Foreign destinations and new activities that the family hasn’t tried together before are a great way to expand everyone’s mindset and create lifelong memories.

Older couples may want to travel alone or with other couples, and they often manage to make new friends while on vacation. Traveling is a great opportunity for empty nesters to not only discover new places they may not have had a chance to visit yet, but also rekindle their romance and enjoy some relaxing one-on-one time.

How old were you when you enjoyed your very best vacation and why?

Accepting change ~ Tommy Middaugh

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi

One thing you can always count on is change. To be successful in business, you need to embrace change. This allows you to quickly spot what needs your attention, make a plan, change things for the better and encourage growth. Businesses of all sizes have to make internal changes to adapt to the many external changes that are part of our ever-changing world. A business that wants to grow will encourage its employees to learn and grow. As workers become more knowledgeable and skilled, they are more flexible and can contribute to the company’s growth even more.

A few changes have happened at Travel To Go recently, which are signs of our growth as a business. We’ve added several new people to our training and our business development teams. We’re also changing the very structure of our organization by introducing task teams specialized in various areas of travel (e.g. resorts, cruises, airlines) to better serve your travel needs. Finally we’re adding new ideas to our email campaigns to make sure we continue deliver the best value on our services. At Travel To Go, we think change is good and we hope you’ll like it too.

Here are some ideas of changes you can apply in your work environment that will make you step out of your personal boundaries, challenge yourself and encourage personal growth:

- Move your furniture around the room to gain a new perspective and foster creativity.

- Remove the clutter from the top of your desk and clean up your computer files.

- Change your daily routine. If you usually start the day checking voicemail and email, try working on an important project instead. Take this opportunity to work with a fresh and focused mind.

- Leave the office for a few hours and work from a corner table at your favorite coffee shop.

- Take a class to learn new software, or a topic you’re not familiar with.

What other ways have you tried to support your personal growth at work?

Family values ~ Jeanette Bunn

We’re proud to have started Travel To Go as a family-owned business and to have remained that way ever since. With my mother in accounting, my brothers in operations and my extended family pitching in too, we all have had a personal interest in making Travel To Go as successful as it is today. We have a high sense of responsibility and owe it to each other to give it our best every day.

The strong, well-defined family values I grew up with have helped me build up a solid foundation for life. My family has always been my strongest source of support, understanding and love. By being honest, loyal and respectful with one another, we are able to have a deeper connection. And we have clear communication rules: we can always talk openly and provide constructive feedback. I cherish this special relationship with my family, by cultivating this sense of belonging not only at home, but also at work.

Of course we understand that not just our family, but all families are important and deserve the best. At Travel To Go, we care about your family as much as we care about ours.  That’s why we offer many vacation options to fit your exact family needs, whether you’re looking for a fun trip with the kids or you’re planning a multi-generational family reunion. Taking some time away together gives you the opportunity to connect or reconnect with your children, your siblings, your parents and grandparents without the distractions and duties of your daily life. Keep in mind that a vacation together is a great way to forge new family bonds and make lifelong memories in a relaxed setting. Give us a call when you’re ready to plan that next trip and we’ll be glad to help make it the best for you and your loved ones.

Expanding our horizons ~ Tommy Middaugh

I believe the key to Travel To Go’s success is the 5-Star Service we offer to so many: our members, our employees, and our distributors. We’re extremely grateful for all the hard work our distributors do for us when they introduce people to our travel club. We understand they cherish their relationship with their clients and want them to be treated well. That’s why we do our best on our end to make the transition of our members from sales to fulfillment as smooth and seamless as possible. We communicate with our distributors every step of the way to ensure that our members enjoy the process and don’t feel they’re just being passed along. Our goal is to gain our new members’ trust and 5-Star Service is what helps us stay on track.

Travel To Go’s excellent customer rating is the main reason why our distributors love working with us. They can see we not only offer a large variety of first-rate travel products and services, but that we also value every single member and handle any challenges quickly and cheerfully.

We’re very proud of our long-term, dedicated relationships with our distributors.  As we continue to build up our member offerings, our distributors see how they too directly benefit from the expansion. We know we couldn’t possibly do all this alone, and we always welcome new inquiries to join our team of Travel To Go and private labeled Vacation Club distributorships. Our ideal distributors are timeshare companies that use our program at the sales table, as well as independent companies. Please contact us at tmiddaugh@traveltogo.com - 800 477 6331 extension 105 if you’re interested in joining our elite travel club’s distributor network. We’re looking forward to having you on board.

How C.A.R.E. cares about travelers ~ Jeanette Bunn

Travel To Go is a longtime member of C.A.R.E. Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers, a trade association that was founded in 1985 to offer expanded travel inventory and fulfillment options. As the former Vice President of C.A.R.E., I’ve had the opportunity to see and understand first-hand how this great non-profit organization functions and helps so many of us in the travel industry be successful.

C.A.R.E. was started in 1985, when independent timeshare resort representatives realized that by exchanging their available vacation inventory among themselves, they were better able to increase vacation booking opportunities. The organization has become an international networking platform that helps owners of over 2,500 vacation properties throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia meet the travel requests of a million vacation members. C.A.R.E. members come from all over the travel industry: resorts, travel clubs, travel agencies, and resort service providers. All members abide by the highest standards and the association’s Code of Ethics so they can deliver the highest level of service to their members, while offering a large variety of vacation options.

Travel To Go has been a proud member of C.A.R.E. since 2005 and we’ll continue to support the travel industry any way we can. We’re glad to network with so many wonderful people, all for the benefit of our own travel club members.

PRESS RELEASE: Travel To Go Names new Vice President of Operations

Travel To Go Names Troy Nuñez as Vice President of Operations

Travel To Go has announced the appointment of Troy Nuñez as Vice President of Operations.
In 1990, Nuñez was one of the original founders of Travel To Go and contributed as Vice President and Director of Marketing from its inception to 2000. Nuñez left the Vacation Club to pursue other dreams: coaching golf, managing his wife’s successful entertainment and hypnotherapy businesses, traveling the world to entertain and inspire the troops and raising his children in the Southern California mountains.
Formerly when serving as, General Manager at Mind Design Global he worked with numerous corporate speakers to help build and promote customer service programs. He also wrote and produced comedy entertainment hypnosis shows for his wife, De’Anna the Hypnochick, a world renowned performing hypnotist; and, was instrumental in the development of the Mind Body Fit Club, a national weight loss and personal development company exclusively for women.
“My sister (President and CEO of Travel To Go, Jeanette Bunn) lured me back into the business,” says Troy. “We have never let go of the family nature of our business and we infuse that into the culture, training and motivation of our team here at Travel To Go.”
Travel To Go’s commitment to providing 5- Star service was a major factor in his decision to return to the travel industry. Nuñez says the objectives of the Mind Body Fit Club were consistent with the goals of Travel To Go and his rejoining the company seemed to be a natural transition, especially since he loves travel and enjoyed success in the industry during his previous involvement.
According to Nuñez, “I am very proud of Travel To Go and how the company has evolved since its founding. Today, our service standards are unsurpassed. Given the company’s current position in the vacation industry, I am excited about the direction and potential of growth ahead, and am honored to have been asked by the principals to navigate their plans for the future .” He also believes that “Travel To Go is on the bubble of setting the standards of how vacations should happen throughout the entire vacation industry.”
“My initial goal upon returning was to build and coach each and every department to work cohesively together, providing superior customer service,” he said. “We embarked on this path by identifying each employee’s talents and repositioning them within the organization. It was amazing how our efficiencies improved.”
Travel To Go is dedicated to creating a healthy lifestyle for its team, whether through its “Results Camp,” a twice weekly fitness and fun hour open to all employees or through special incentives ranging from prizes and spiffs to vacations in the Travel To Go network. With these perks and the positive company attitude, team members enthusiastically feel they are part of an extended family.
