Boo! Ghosts and Goblin Destinations and Tours ~ Jeanette Bunn

It’s that time of the year again when the goblins, monsters and ghosts come out in the dark of night to have a little fun! Are you ready for it? Halloween is just around the corner and for many of us, it’s the opportunity to bring out our inner child and dress up in fun or scary costumes. What could be more fun than that? How about traveling with friends or family to some terrific Halloween destinations to celebrate the event?

Disneyworld and Disneyland are great places to visit around Halloween for children from 1 to 99. The happiest place on earth loves getting spookier this time of year! Both parks are decorated in orange and brown, hay bales, carved jack-o-lanterns and scarecrows as they hold a magical Mickey’s Not Too Scary Halloween Party every night, complete with trick-or-treat stations. This is a great place to enjoy Halloween fun with the whole family.

If you’re looking for something a lot scarier, head on to New England, which draws crowds in search of chills and thrills with many Halloween events, such as:

New Orleans, Louisiana and San Diego, California are two other popular destinations for Halloween. Both cities feature their own haunted houses (the Lalaurie House in New Orleans, and the Whaley House in San Diego, declared the “most haunted house” in the USA) and other ghostly sites, as well as many spooky events and parties, such as SeaWorld San Diego Spooktacular and LEGOLAND Brick-Or-Treat party nights.

Call us to book your travel experience now!

What’s your favorite destination to celebrate Halloween? Do you have a favorite Halloween activity or family tradition you’d like to share?

Successful fund raiser for the Wounded Warrior Project ~ Tommy Middaugh

I’m proud to announce that as one of the major sponsors of the Kern River Rock N Blues Fest that took place this late September in Kernville, CA, Travel To Go helped raise $5000 for The Wounded Warrior Project. This non-profit organization’s mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors of the U.S. forces. It assists those men and women who have been severely injured physically and/or mentally during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world. Did you know that 600,000 or more service and former service forces live with mental health issues, often untreated? The Wounded Warrior Project addresses the many needs of injured service members through unique programs and services, and gives our veterans opportunities they may not have access to otherwise. One unique way the Wounded Warrior Project functions is by enabling injured service members to help and support each other so they can feel empowered.

The 3-day festival featured 13 different bands, including Monkey Bizness, English Revolver, and Bunky Spurling, on the Bud Light Main Stage and six other music depots. Travel To Go hosted the V.I.P. Party at the event, which featured a special performance by RIP CAT Recording blues artist Lisa Cee. You can view many photos of the event on my Facebook page. This event was a fundraiser to specifically help with the construction of the Bakersfield National Cemetery Memorial Walkway and honor our soldiers who didn’t make it home alive. This will be a beautiful place to allow families and friends of fallen veterans to gather and find solace. Tommy Middaugh Charities is great way for you to continue to follow Travel To Go’s involvement and the many charity events we like to sponsor throughout the year.

Fall is in the air ~ Jeanette Bunn

Fall weather in San Diego is nothing like the rest of the country. September and October usually are the hottest months of the year, and our leaves don’t turn all yellow or brown before the beginning of November. The recent hot Santa Ana winds have brought more warm weather to the area. Even this week’s rainstorm, which arrived early in the season, didn’t last and the warm weather is back.

Whether you’re a California native or you moved here a few years ago for work or the sunny weather, you may be longing to enjoy a real fall season: crisp mornings and a cool breeze during the day that warrant you to wear cozy sweaters and warm jackets, the gorgeous fall foliage as far as your eyes can see, some hot apple cider to warm up in the late afternoon, and the opportunity to sit by a relaxing fire at night.

If you live in San Diego and miss the fall season, Travel To Go is offering great savings on trips to the North East right now. Choose from many options, such as a relaxing stay in a stunning New England resort, a leaf-peeping cruise, or even plan ahead for a ski trip at one of the many resorts in the North East (New Hampshire not only has great snow but beautiful scenery as well). And it’s never too early to start planning your holiday family getaway. Thanksgiving and the end-of-the-year holidays will be here sooner than you think, so give us a call when you’re ready to schedule your next trip at (800) 477-6331, Monday through Friday 8am to 5:00pm PST.

Football ~ Tommy Middaugh

Are you ready for some football? How about some Fantasy Football? It’s that time of the year again, when we have a chance to be part of the game in our own special way. Fantasy Football puts us in the front office and on the sidelines as general manager and coach of our own team. We choose our league, put together a unique roster from a list of the best NFL players and have them compete on a weekly basis. The players’ on-field performance affects our total score and position on the leaderboard. Of course, it’s always better when our own team beats our buddies’ teams, isn’t it?

Wouldn’t it be nice if fantasy became reality? Well, I’m not sure about the world of football, but at Travel To Go, we make sure your fantasies can become reality when it comes to traveling. Have you ever dreamed of an extensive roster of vacation opportunities you could choose from? That’s what a membership vacation club is about. With us, your traveling opportunities are endless and only you get to decide where your next trip will take you, whether it’s New York City or Rio de Janeiro, Asia or Europe, a timeshare condo in the snowy mountains or an all-inclusive 5-Star resort by a white sand beach. Our goal always is “making dreams come true” for each and every one of our members.

And what’s the best part of asking Travel To Go to help you plan your next vacation? Unlike a game of football or Fantasy Football, you’re guaranteed to win at every play.

Lifetime memories ~ Jeanette Bunn

When I started Travel To Go in 1990 as a young adult, I never doubted this company would be successful in helping over 50,000 members with their travel plans every year. However, I never anticipated the unforgettable memories that have resulted from this journey, especially by working so close to my family for all these years. We’ve shared the challenges and rewards of owning a small business and we love retelling our most memorable stories as we get together for family dinners.

My favorite reason for going on vacation is the memories that each trip creates. There are so many opportunities to share special moments with your loved ones: the places you visit for the first time, the unique activities you may try together, the people you meet, the new foods you discover, the many beautiful sunrises or sunsets… A vacation allows you to live life without regrets for a few days or weeks. It lets you spend some precious downtime away from the distractions and stress of everyday life. You get to enjoy time with the people you care the most about and create new bonds that strengthen your relationships. No other experience out there can give you so many benefits as a well-deserved vacation.

At Travel To Go, we offer so many travel destinations and accommodations that we can provide dream vacations to meet just about any budget. If you haven’t taken advantage of our great rates and our multitude of travel packages, or if you’re longing for that one special trip, you need to give us a call at (800) 477-6331, Monday through Friday 8am to 5:00pm PST.

I’m b-a-a-a-ck ~ Troy Nuñez

My name is Troy Nuñez and I recently came back to Travel To Go as the company’s Vice President of Operations. I’m CEO & President Jeanette Bunn’s brother and some of you may remember me as one of the original founders, when I served as Vice President and Director of Marketing from 1990 to 2000. It was a hard decision to leave then but my family was very supportive in allowing me to pursue my own dreams. And so many dreams have come true in the past 10 years: I’ve coached golf; I’ve had an amazing time writing and producing comedy entertainment hypnosis shows for my wife; we traveled the world to entertain and inspire our deployed troops. Most recently my wife and I have worked hard at building up the Mind Body Fit Club, a national weight loss and personal development company exclusively for women.

But in the end, it was Jeanette who lured me back into the business. Travel To Go has always been family-oriented in more ways than one, and rejoining the company I helped found seemed a very natural transition. I’m so proud of how the company has grown over the years. Its unique 5-Star Service has really set the bar for what the traveler’s personal experience should be throughout the entire vacation industry. I’m very excited about the direction Travel To Go is heading and its strong potential for growth. Did you know we just reached 60,000 travel club members, up from 50,000 earlier this year? I’m honored to have the chance to navigate the company’s plans for the future. This is going to be an amazing journey for our family of employees and all of our members. At Travel To Go, we’re really making dreams come true.

Going for the Gold ~ Tommy Middaugh

At Travel To Go, we always go for the gold as we expand our offerings within the travel industry and attend to our many travel club members. Just like the men on Gold Rush, the Discovery Channel reality TV show, who try to strike it rich by mining for gold in the wilds of Alaska, we give it our best effort to make our business even more successful year after year.

There are many ways we can grow our business and increase our membership numbers. The best tools we use to dig for gold are:

·         Adapting to changes in our industry and understanding the many ways and reasons why people travel

·         Attending all industry-relevant events and positioning ourselves as the leader in our field

·         Offering more valuable services to our members, well beyond the standard timeshare or resort reservations

·         Staying one step ahead of our competition by featuring unique and distinctive offerings

·         Offering 5-Star Service to every single member and making it an unforgettable experience

·         Surveying our customers to ensure their complete satisfaction with our services and our team

·         Equipping  our customer service and business development teams with the most up-to-date tools

·         Optimizing our infrastructure to make it easier for our members to do business with us

·         Focusing our marketing efforts on specific growth areas to attract new travel club members

·         Expanding our distributor and referral network as we continue to maintain long-term, dedicated relationships with our current distributors

What’s my favorite part about striking gold? Being able to share some of it with many non-profit organizations whose goal is to help people in dire need. There is no better feeling in the world. As Muhammad Ali once said, “to be able to give away riches is mandatory if you wish to possess them. This is the only way that you will be truly rich.”
